Voxpro, an Irish call-center firm that last year announced it would bring hundreds of jobs to Folsom, said Tuesday it has moved into its new offices and is ahead of hiring goals.
The company chose Folsom due to its relatively low costs and proximity to the Bay Area, where it provides customer-service centers for tech giants like Google and Airbnb. So far, Voxpro has hired about 200 employees for its office at 255 Parkshore Dr.
Voxpro still aims to hire 700 employees by the end of the year, and more after that, said a company spokeswoman.
Voxpro prides itself as being a unique and fun place to work, modeling its offices on those of the Silicon Valley companies it serves. The company’s lobby in Folsom features a pool table built from a vintage Ford Mustang that sits under a disco ball.
The company hired its first Folsom employee in October and opened a temporary space at 600 Coolidge Dr. It now has 13,000 square feet at 255 Parkshore Dr. and is refurbishing the ground floor, which will have the capacity to house another 450 employees.
The Folsom office is now exclusively serving Nest Labs, and plans to add an additional client in the next few months. Employees earn between $32,000 and $150,000 annually, the company said.
